University of Pittsburgh Chiller Plant

Sentinel completed the Structural and Exterior Enclosure package for the University of Pittsburgh’s new Chiller Plant, an essential facility supporting the university’s campus-wide energy and cooling systems.

This ~$11 million subcontract encompassed all major structural and enclosure components, including concrete foundations, structural walls, structural steel, concrete decks, curtain wall systems, metal panels, and roofing. Sentinel’s comprehensive scope ensured the seamless integration of critical building elements that form the backbone of the facility’s performance and durability.

Working in close coordination with the Turner/Mosites Joint Venture, Sentinel played a pivotal role in driving the project’s early-stage progress. Many of the project’s critical path milestones depended on Sentinel’s timely delivery, demonstrating the company’s reliability, technical precision, and ability to execute complex structural work on schedule.
